Ralph “Rick” Huff announced Wednesday, November 1 that he will be retiring as a member of the Marshall County Election Board as of January 1, 2024.

Susie Keighbaum will be taking his seat as the Democrat representative on the board.

When the board met Wednesday they discussed tardy campaign finance reports.  The reports were due into the Clerk’s Office by noon ET Friday, October 20.  If reports are turned in late, the fine is $50 a day.  Ginny Munroe submitted her report October 24 and Bob Byers turned in his report October 27.  After some discussion, the board agreed to fine Munroe $50 and Byers $75.

The Clerk’s Office is still waiting to hear from a representative of the Friends of Culver Community Schools as the campaign finance report was not filed by the deadline.  The PAC has been open since 2018 and has not closed and the last representative is no longer involved.  Efforts will be made to identify a representative to address the matter and if no action is taken, the matter will go to the Marshall County Attorney.
