The Bremen Town Council members approved an ordinance Monday night that would create a fund within the budget to accept grant funds from the Regional Acceleration and Development Initiative (READI).
The READI grant funds support various quality-of-place projects in St. Joseph, Elkhart and Marshall Counties.
In the Town of Bremen, $82,965 has been set aside to construct pickleball courts, fire pits, and other amenities in the Sunnyside Park.
Expenditures from the READI Grant fund shall be made by appropriation by the Bremen Town Council.
The ordinance was approved with a unanimous vote of the members present. Councilman Rick Graverson was absent.
