Argos Community School Board Discusses Special Education Agreement

The Argos Community School Board members discussed a Special Education agreement during their meeting last week.

Superintendent Ned Speicher said the agreement is with Plymouth Community School Corporation, Triton School Corporation and Argos Community School Corporation for the 2024-2025 school year.

“That’ll be the three school districts that will be working together,” explained Speicher. “We had the organization JESSE and that’s going to go away and break into smaller components which had numerous school districts in Starke County and Marshall County. It’ll be just Plymouth, Argos and Triton for us next year.”

Each school corporation will pay its bills and there will be one director as part of the agreement. Students will be educated in their own school district. Speicher said the school board approved the agreement.

The school board also approved the Teacher Appreciation Grants during their recent meeting. The funds are received by state and will soon be distributed to teachers eligible to receive the funds.
