Sheriffs Urge Parents to Check Sex Offender Registry Prior to Halloween

Area sheriffs are urging parents to check the Sex Offender Registry before taking out children for trick-or-treating.

The online sex offender registry allows residents to know the identity of registered sex offenders in the area to avoid visiting the homes of a registered sex offender during door-to-door trick-or-treating.

There are currently about 51 registered sex offenders in Starke County, 31 in Pulaski County, 81 in Marshall County, and 206 registered sex offenders residing in La Porte County.
