Plymouth Common Council Revises Fire Chief Job Description; Approves Transfer of Funds

The Plymouth Common Council adjusted the job description for the Fire Chief.

The revised work schedule is 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. with the accommodation that hours may vary due to Plymouth Fire Department needs. A chief can be up to 40 years old prior to appointment and date of hire in accordance with 1977 PERF guidelines and regulations; maximum age used to be 36 years old.

The Council also approved Resolution No. 2023-1077 A Resolution Providing for the Transfer of Appropriations Within Department and Funds of the City of Plymouth, Indiana as Requested by the Department Head and Forwarded to the Common Council for their Action and Passage Pursuant to IC 6-1.1-18-6. The Fire Department requested the transfer of certain funds to pay for some employee physicals and some equipment for new hires.

The Plymouth Common Council will meet again Monday evening, October 23 at 6:30 p.m. or following the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety meeting.
