The Argos Community School Board received an update on the construction projects around the corporation when they met Wednesday night.
Superintendent Ned Speicher stated that the cafeteria project was included in the report. That project is done and was on time and on budget.
“Project II is our Elementary School addition which is a new art room, a new music room, and a new small group testing room,” explained Speicher. “That is scheduled to be complete Fall Break. Project III is new heating and air conditioning units on the roof for cleaner air. Those units are being manufactured and they’re supposed to be here this Fall.”
Speicher added the board approved a bid for Project IV Wednesday night.
Speicher continued, “Project IV is outside site development which is developing additional parking lots, paving some existing parking lots and putting up some security fencing around our property. The low bidder was R. Yoder Construction Company. Their low bid with the alternates and everything taken was right at $801,000.
That project will begin this Fall and go into the Spring season.
Speicher noted that all of these projects were able to be funded without increasing the tax rate.
