Suspect Arrested in Alleged Battery Incident

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department recently obtained information on a domestic and child exchange dispute at a residence on Thorn Road.

Deputies responded to the scene and during the investigation it was revealed that at another time, Kenneth Barnett, 33, of Walkerton had allegedly thrown a knife at the victim causing injury to her.

A report was completed and forwarded to the Marshall County Prosecutor’s office for review.

Formal charges were completed and an arrest warrant was issued for Kenneth Barnett.

The arrest warrant was served Monday, July 31 that included charges of battery by means of a deadly weapon, and criminal recklessness committed with a deadly weapon.  He was transported to the Marshall County Jail where his bond was set at $10,000 cash. 

Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
