Resisting Arrest, Intoxication Puts Bourbon Man in Jail

James Dawson II

Marshall County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to Birch Road Thursday, August 3 at 4 p.m. ET regarding an original animal complaint that turned into a man yelling obscenities in the roadway.

At the scene officers made contact with James Dawson II, 36, of Bourbon who police say was found to be intoxicated. During the investigation, Dawson reportedly made a threat to officers to commit a forcible felony with a deadly weapon. Dawson resisted officers before being taken into custody, according to the report.

Dawson was taken to the Marshall County Jail where he faces preliminary charges of intimidation, resisting law enforcement, public intoxication, and disorderly conduct.

Formal charges will be determined by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.

Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
