Plymouth Woman Arrested after Reportedly Disregarding School Crossing

A Plymouth woman was arrested Friday, August 11 after she allegedly disregarded a school crossing.

Plymouth Police Department officers conducted a traffic stop at 7:49 a.m. ET in front of Washington Discovery Academy.  Plymouth officers were assisting at the school crossing when a vehicle drove through the crossing while children were still in the crosswalk and the guard holding the crossing stop sign, according to the report.

After speaking with the driver, Maria A. Alvarez-Salinas, 62, of Plymouth, officers found that she reportedly never possessed a driver’s license. She was taken into custody.

Formal charges will be determined by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.

Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
