Memorial Plaques Placed at the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department now displays memorial plaques for three Merit Officers.

Visitors and employees will now see three wooden memorial plaques on display on the main entrance wall of the lobby at the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department.

The plaques were made by Wyckoff’s Workshop, a veteran-owned business out of Colorado. They were designed and paid for by monies seized through narcotics investigations.

John W. Knoblock, of Bremen, was the department’s first detective. He passed away unexpectedly June 5, 1976.  Thomas G. Chamberlin, of Plymouth, was the elected Sheriff when he passed away from a hard fought cancer battle August 28, 2015.  Daniel K. Butt, of Culver, was the captain for the department. He passed away unexpectedly February 12, 2021.

Sheriff’s Department officials say these officers served their community with great valor and selfless dedication to public service. They will forever be memorialized at the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department.
