The John Glenn School Board members were updated Tuesday night on preparations for the upcoming school year.
John Glenn High School Principal Chris Manering commented that the National Honor Society students have been hosting tours for students to familiarize them with the layout of the school and locker location.
“We saw a lot of Freshman coming in just to dot some i’s and cross some t’s – just get that anxiety level down a little bit there,” commented Manering. “It’s been nice having people back on campus kind of leading us up to that first day.”
Students have also been preparing for the fall sports season and marching band practices for the competitive season.
The preliminary look at the number transfer of students is at 582 with 74 new out-of-district requests for the 2023-2024 school year. Thirty-seven requests were included and approved in Tuesday’s school board consent agenda packet.
The first day of school for John Glenn students is Wednesday, August 9.
