Bremen Director of Operations Keith Fraine updated the Bremen Town Council members Monday afternoon about the progress of the Jackson Street project.
The Town of Bremen was awarded Stellar grant funds for several projects including the Jackson Street project which involves an outdoor pavilion, stage area, a lot of greenspace, new trees, benches, and lighting to create a downtown community gathering area.
Mike Reese from The Troyer Group made the recommendation to the council at a meeting in April to approve the bid from Brown and Brown General Contractors. He said they provided the lowest base bid of $1,279,100 and had the lowest any combination of alternate bids.
Three alternate bids were also chosen which include bid alternate #1 for a propane fire pit, alternate #3 for the tongue and groove wood in the pavilion, and alternate #5 which is a deduct for the gutter system.
Fraine noted that the construction should be complete by October 30 with the exception of the installation of the pavilion. He said the pavilion is not due for delivery until October 30. As soon as it arrives it will be installed.
