The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory in effect for today and Thursday, and an excessive heat watch Thursday.
Extreme heat and humidity will significantly increase the potential for heat related illnesses, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities.
The heat advisory has been issued as heat index values will get up to 105 degrees. The excessive heat watch has been issued as temperatures will be hot with heat index values up to 110 degrees possible.
Be prepared to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.
