The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department and the Marshall County Coroner’s Office are investigating a fatal accident that occurred Wednesday, August 9 shortly after 5:30 a.m. ET.
According to Marshall County Coroner John Grolich, a small passenger car traveling north on Michigan Road north of 6A Road in Marshall County crossed the center line and ran off the roadway for an unknown reason. The vehicle struck a large brick mailbox stand, according to the report.
The driver was the sole occupant in the vehicle. The driver, identified as 44-year-old Shane Bolinger, of Plymouth, was found unresponsive, slumped over on the passenger side of the vehicle, according to the report. Officers removed the driver and began life saving measures until Emergency Medical Services arrived.
Assisting agencies at the scene include LaPaz Fire Department, Union North EMS, Tri-County EMS, Plymouth Police Department, and Reichert-Knepp Towing.
