An Argos woman was arrested Wednesday, August 10 after officers from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call of a battery incident at 7:18 p.m. ET in the 14000 block of 20A Road near Argos.
During the investigation, 30-year-old Heather M. Blacklaw allegedly battered residents at the property. Police say she had been staying in a camper on the property and it was on fire. Blacklaw was removed from the camper and detained at the scene. She resisted law enforcement officers multiple times and at one point fled from a patrol vehicle in which she was detained, according to the report. Police say officers were able to get her back into custody after a struggle.
Fire and EMS personnel responded to extinguish the camper fire. The camper was believed to be a total loss at the time.
Blacklaw was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment and then transported to the Marshall County Jail. She was arrested on preliminary charges of escape, battery on a public safety official causing injury, possession of cocaine or a narcotic drug, possession of a deception legend drug, resisting law enforcement, domestic battery, and criminal mischief.
