The Argos Community School Board members took a tour of the construction projects when they met Monday evening.
Superintendent Ned Speicher said most of the construction is complete.
“Our new cafeteria will open next week,” stated Speicher. “We’ve been constructing that for the better part of a year. Our new Elementary addition that includes new classrooms is partially complete. We’ll have those completed during fall break and then we’ll move into the new art room, new music room and new testing room. The band room remodel is complete so the new band room is ready to go. We remodeled our auditorium and it’s 90 percent complete. We are using the new auditorium – we just have some carpeting to do yet. We have the new additional parking lots that we worked on with the town in our projects. We have a lot of changes!”
All of the new improvements can be seen during an open house and Meet the Teacher Night Tuesday, August 8 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. ET at the school at 500 Yearick Street. Light refreshments will be served.
The first day of school for students is Wednesday, August 9.
