A Rochester man was recently sentenced in U.S. District Court after pleading guilty to the theft of firearms from a federal firearms licensee, announced United States Attorney Clifford D. Johnson.
Justin Overholser, 40, was sentenced to 33 months in prison followed by 2 years of supervised release.
According to documents in the case, in September 2021, Overholser broke into the store of a federal firearms licensee and stole 11 firearms and several boxes of ammunition. He caused over $2,000 in damage and left the store with firearms valued at over $10,000. Overholser later sold the stolen guns for drugs and money.
This case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives with the assistance of the Indiana State Police and the Logansport Police Department.
