The Plymouth City Council opened a public hearing Monday evening to take comments on the published additional appropriations resolution.
Clerk-Treasurer Lynn Gorski presented information concerning the resolution.
Almost $73,000 was approved out of the Opioid Settlement Unrestricted and Restricted Funds for Marshall County’s Project HOPE.
From the Law Enforcement Continuing Education Fund, $10,000 was approved for equipment, and $1,422.68 was approved from the Police Department Equitable Sharing Fund for equipment as requested by Plymouth Police Chief David Bacon.
Just over $689,000 was approved out of the Rainy Day Fund as requested by Street Department Superintendent Jim Marquardt for the Gibson and Laporte Street paving projects as discussed by the council during the last meeting.
Finally, $144,000 was approved out of the Cumulative Capital Development Fund for engineering costs for the Gibson and Laporte Street paving projects.
Councilman Jeff Houin commented that he and Councilman Don Ecker, Jr. met with Gorski to review the status of the General Fund.
“I feel very confident that at the end of the year we will have sufficient funds to reimburse the money back to the Rainy Day Fund for the Gibson and Laporte Street projects,” stated Houin.
He also noted that Gorski is working with the Department of Local Government Finance to review other budget matters.
There were no other comments.
The council members later unanimously approved a motion that adopted the additional appropriations resolution.
