It was a successful Summer School season at the John Glenn School Corporation.
Superintendent Christopher Winchell updated the John Glenn School Board members on classes this summer during their recent meeting.
Winchell said, “Summer School is all wrapped up. There was about a $150,000 cost to educate the kiddos and that doesn’t include what we spent on operations for utilities, food service, and transportation. Also, the ILEARN scores are starting to be released officially so we’re starting to disaggregate our ILEARN data and then we’ll be updating our school improvement goals.”
With Summer School in the rear view mirror, the corporation staff is looking toward the 2023-2024 school year.
“Mr. [Tim] Davis [Director of Learning] is planning for new teacher orientation and we have live registration July 25. We’ve already started online registration. We have all of our positions filled except Middle School P.E.,” commented Winchell.
The first day of school for students is Wednesday, August 9.
