The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory through Friday, July 28.
Temperatures are expected to be in the mid-90s with heat indices over 100 degrees. Temperatures in the evening are expected in the 70s.
Heat illnesses such as heat exhaustion or heat stroke could occur if too much time is spent outdoors. Keep hydrated and seek a cooler environment if you experience nausea or dizziness.
Officials remind residents to take extra care in protecting pets during these conditions. Every responsible pet owner should be vigilant in making sure that their pets are protected from the elements in a structure meeting the minimum veterinary standards for protection from the elements. Pets should be able to stand, sit and lie down without restrictions in a safe and sanitary manner and have sufficient food and water at all times.
