Culver Clerk-Treasurer Karen Heim addressed several issues with the Town Council.
Addressing water and sewer rates in the town was one item, suggesting a work session to address the issue was suggested given the anticipation of a lengthy discussion on the matter.
The Council will invite financial consultants Baker-Tilley to attend that meeting to go over the numbers and the options available to the town. The session was set for July 25 at 4 p.m.
Heim told the Council that she is in need of new software for utility billing, and accounting software for the office. Heim said her current software had been purchased in 2005 and feared the company would soon discontinue support of the program.
Heim said she would prefer to address the billing software first and take care of the accounting software at a later date. The Council gave unanimous approval.
With budget discussions for the town departments beginning one issue that is recurring is that of employee retention.
The Council has expressed a desire to address the issue in the coming budget and Heim asked if they had any sort specifics on what they may like to provide for inclusion in those budget talks.
Heim was told the Council members were having discussions with the various department heads with EMS and Fire still on the list.
