The Plymouth Community School Corporation has named Ward Byers as Director of Safety and Security for the Corporation.
Byers takes over for former director Ted Brown who will move over to become the Director of Transportation for Plymouth Schools.
Byers graduated from Plymouth High School in 1985 and completed training at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in 1992. He is also a graduate of Leadership Marshall County.
He has served as Marshall County Coroner from 1989 to 1993, was a Marshall County Sheriff’s Deputy from 1992 to 2010, a member of the Marshall County Council for one term and a police officer from 2010 to 2013.
For the past ten years, he has been the Director of Marshall County Community Corrections and has been the Bourbon Town Board President since 2020.
