The weight room at the Triton High School will be open to the public during certain designated times during the summer months.
Triton Community School Superintendent Jeremy Riffle told the Triton Community School Board this week that the corporation is in the running for a $113,000 grant from the K-12 Health Foundation (Kosciusko County) that has helped Triton with money for other athletic facilities. Part of the push of the group is continuing to encourage the community to become involved with the school as a hub of activity.
From June 5 through August 3, the weight room will be available to the public Monday through Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. ET, but will be closed from July 3 to July 6 for IHSAA moratorium week. Patrons are asked to enter through door 9. Those aged 15 or younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Additionally, Justina Faulkner, Rachael Watkins, Nick Kindig, and Steve Watkins were approved as rotating “Weight Room Supervisors” at a stipend of $30 per session.
