Charges Filed in Marshall County in Investigation by Office of the Indiana Attorney General Medicaid Fraud Control Unit

Nurse Practitioner Daniel Tanner and his brother, David Tanner, were recently charged following an investigation by the Office of the Indiana Attorney General Medicaid Fraud Control Unit.

According to the Probable Cause Affidavit filed June 21, 2023, Daniel Tanner owns Concierge Medicine of Marshall County on Water Street in Plymouth and investigators were assigned to investigate a complaint where Daniel’s brother, David Tanner, had been allegedly running the practice on days Daniel was not there and prescribing medications and ordering tests under Daniel Tanner’s credentials.  Court documents state that David Tanner’s license to practice nursing was indefinitely suspended by the Indiana State Board of Nursing January 7, 2005. 

The investigation began in August 2020.  Undercover operations took place in 2021 where David Tanner was conducting routine nursing duties, diagnosing patients and prescribing medications that were under Daniel Tanner’s name, according to the court documents. 


There were also alleged complaints of misdiagnosis claimed.   

Daniel Tanner was booked into the Marshall County Jail Thursday, June 22 on charges of aiding, inducing or causing the practice of medicine without a license, issuing invalid prescription of legend drugs by practitioner, and aiding, inducing or causing practicing nursing while license suspended or revoked.  David Tanner was booked into the Marshall County Jail Thursday, June 22 on charges of nursing license violations and unlawful practice of medicine. 

Both have bonded out of the Marshall County Jail.

Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
