Car, Semi Accident Produces Minor Injuries

One driver was treated for minor abrasions in an accident involving a passenger car and a semi tractor trailer Tuesday, June 13.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department was notified of the accident at 7:17 p.m. ET in the area of U.S. 6 and Tamarack Road.  Police say a 2013 Peterbilt, driven by 62-year-old Efrain Romero, was traveling west on US. 6 when a Toyota Rav4, driven by a 16-year-old driver attempted to cross over U.S. 6 after stopping at the stop sign, but reportedly failed to yield to traffic.  The two vehicles collided which sent the semi tractor trailer off of the roadway on the south side of U.S. 6 while the passenger vehicle came to rest south of U.S. 6 on Tamarack Road.

The driver of the Toyota was treated for minor abrasions and released to the family.  The semi driver refused medical treatment at the scene. 

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by the Polk Township Fire Department, Walkerton Police Department, and Walkerton EMS.
