A Bourbon man was arrested Wednesday, June 7 after an accident investigation by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department and Bourbon Police Department responded to the area of Elm Road and 11th Road in Bourbon for an accident. When they arrived at the scene, a Bourbon Police officer found a vehicle with heavy front end damage and a pole that had been hit.
During the course of an investigation, the driver, 50-year-old Eric Edington, was reportedly found to be under the influence of alcohol. Police say Edington refused field sobriety testing and a breath sample. A warrant was then applied for and granted for a blood sample. A blood draw was taken and then Edington was transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked on preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering, and public intoxication.
The Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office will determine formal charges.
Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
