A suspicious vehicle call Sunday, May 21 just before 1 a.m. in the 1700 block of Hillcrest Avenue led to an arrest.
Police say the vehicle had fled the area prior to the arrival of officers. A Marshall County Sheriff’s Department deputy located a vehicle matching the description in the area of State Road 17 and Pretty Lake Trail and a traffic stop was initiated.
The driver of the vehicle could not provide identification and allegedly gave different names and different birthdates. After an investigation found the correct vehicle was stopped and the driver reportedly lied about his identity, the driver was eventually properly identified as 18-year-old Kevin Calvillo, according to the report. Police say he was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was given field sobriety testing. He was reportedly under the legal limit for driving, but was arrested on preliminary charges of false informing and illegal consumption of an alcoholic beverage.
Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
