Plymouth Common Council holds Public Hearing for Additional Appropriation Solution

The Plymouth Common Council held a Public Hearing and approved Resolution No. 2023-1051 Additional Appropriations Solution. The allocations were previously approved during the last meeting; however it had been advertised one day short of Department of Local Government Finance Compliance. It was advertised again.

The public hearing was held again. The council approved the resolution again. As previously reported, within that resolution the council approved an additional appropriation of $50,000 for General – Engineering to cover the increasing demands and costs of engineering consulting work for projects. The council discussed the potential need to hire a full time engineer once again moving forward as outsourcing might reach $200,000 before the end of 2023. The original budget for 2023 was for $100,000, of which $60,000 has already been spent for this year.

Within that resolution the council also approved three additional appropriation amounts that were budgeted for 2023 but had not been advertised: those items include $566,398 for the Cemetery, $16,800 for Cumulative Capital Improvement, and $170,000 for Cumulative Capital Development.

The resolution also accepted two donations: $1,500 to the City Monetary Gift Fund to cover the Mayor’s Months of Music, and $1,400 for a Park Gift.

$1,032,000 was appropriated to the Lifelong Learning Network from the American Rescue Plan Act along with $68,609.25 for an Ambulance Chassis from the same fund.
