One person was injured in an accident Saturday, May 27 in the area of U.S. 6 and Sycamore Road in Marshall County.
According to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, drivers and witnesses said 58-year-old Tod Hess was traveling north on Sycamore Road in his 2016 Jeep Patriot just after 9 a.m. ET when he allegedly disregarded the stop sign and traveled into the intersection and struck a 2014 Ford F-250 pulling a trailer driven by 28-year-old Jacob Binkley. Binkley was traveling west on U.S. 6 at the time.
Hess’ vehicle rolled and came to rest on its side off the south side of U.S 6. Binkley’s vehicle and trailer traveled off the north side of U.S. 6 coming to rest in a field.
Hess was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries while Binkley was not injured.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by the Polk Township Fire Department, Walkerton EMS, Walkerton Police Department, and the DNR.
