Michigan Residents Arrested on Suspicion of Public Intoxication, Illegal Consumption of Alcohol

Two Michigan residents were arrested Sunday, May 7 after a Marshall County Sheriff’s Department deputy responded to a disabled vehicle call around 5:47 a.m. ET.

The deputy arrived at 4B Road and Queen Road in Marshall County where he found 20-year-old Shane Guffey of Berrien Springs, Michigan under the influence of alcohol, according to the report.  Police say another occupant of the vehicle was walking the area who was identified as 19-year-old Juan C.A. Wilches also of Berrien Springs, Michigan.  He was found by another officer and Wilches was also reportedly under the influence of alcohol. 

Both Guffey and Wilches were taken into custody on preliminary charges of public intoxication and illegal consumption of alcohol.  They have since bonded out of the Marshall County Jail.

Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
