The John Glenn School Board heard updates on student attendance during testing at a recent school board meeting.
Urey Middle School tried out a new incentive program to encourage students to be present on days of testing. After each test was done, students would earn a raffle ticket based off of six different criteria to then be put into raffle bags and drawn for a chance at winning numerous different prizes.
Due in part to the incentive, Urey Middle School only had a three percent student absentee rate on days of testing. Urey Middle School administrators thanked Superintendent Christopher Winchell for seeking the funds to enable this program.
