The Culver Community School Board took action to continue to offer a select number of classes through Indiana Online.
Superintendent Karen Shuman said Indiana Online offers several courses for students.
“There are some courses in the area of Computer Science, some AP courses, and Foreign Language courses that some students would like to take online, but we have to have a contract with Indiana Online in order to offer those,” said Shuman.
Sign language is another course offered through the program.
Middle/High School Principal Brett Berndt added that Indiana Online has been used often throughout the summer and some through the school year. The school corporation has used the program for the last several years. Students receive normal credits for the classes and go by the school’s course code.
The cost is $250 per course which is paid for by the school and ICAP refunds the school.
Indiana Online assists students with courses and administrators with that program keep up with the students pertaining to assignments and keep them on track throughout the curriculum. School teachers can also help.
The board approved the contract with Indiana Online with a unanimous vote.
