A Plymouth man was arrested Wednesday, April 19 after the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department investigated a report of a break-in in the 6,000 block of Michigan Road in Plymouth.
The caller told dispatchers that she saw a male subject in her basement. After the suspect was observed, he fled the residence on a black bicycle, according to police.
A search of the suspect began and an Indiana State Police trooper found the man in the area of 6th Road and Oak Road identified as 29-year-old William R. Swihart. During an investigation, police say it was revealed that he was allegedly involved in the burglary and theft of two houses in the 6,000 block of Michigan Road, along with a house in the 13,000 block of 6A Road, and a building on South Center Street.
Swihart was arrested on three counts of burglary and three counts of theft. Formal charges will be determined by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by the Indiana State Police, Plymouth Police Department, and the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.
Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
