A Plymouth man was arrested Sunday, April 2 after the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department investigated an accident in the area of U.S. 6 near Sycamore Road.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department Dispatch Center received a 911 call shortly after 9 p.m. ET where they were informed that a vehicle reportedly ran off the road in that area and sustained front end damage from hitting two mailboxes.
Police say the vehicle continued traveling westbound on U.S. 6 and then southbound on Michigan Road from U.S. 6. A deputy was able to locate the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. The vehicle was smoking, leaking fluids, and had severe front end damage, according to the report.
The driver of the vehicle, 22-year-old Ethan Nettrouer, was allegedly found to be under the influence following the completion of field sobriety tests and the results of a certified test letter. Police say he was two times the legal limit.
Nettrouer was arrested and booked into the Marshall County Jail on preliminary charges of operating a vehicle with a BAC of .15 or more, operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangerment, and leaving the scene of a property damage accident.
Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
