Illinois Man Arrested in Plymouth on Vehicle Theft Charge

An Illinois man was arrested Saturday, April 1 after Plymouth Police Department officers received a notice about a possible impaired/reckless driver traveling on U.S. 30 east from Oak Roadin Plymouth.

Police say the vehicle was described as a blue Buick and it returned as a stolen vehicle.

An officer with the Plymouth Police Department found the vehicle on U.S. 30 near the intersection with Plymouth-Goshen Trail and initiated a traffic stop. The vehicle continued east on U.S. 30 before coming to a stop near Iris Road.  The driver, 20-year-old Luis Mario Sanchez Taboada of Hanover Park, Illinois, allegedly resisted arrest once the vehicle was stopped.

Taboada was arrested and booked into the Marshall County Jail on preliminary charges of resisting law enforcement, battery against a public official, and theft of a vehicle.

Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
