The Indiana Department of Corrections will be paying respects this week to Mike Keel, a 29-year employee at the Indiana State Prison.
Keel was on duty at the Indiana State Prison in Michigan City when he was struck in the head with a steel pipe by an inmate earlier this month.
Services will be Thursday, April 20 at 3p.m. CT at the Valparaiso Nazarene Church with visitation there from 1 p.m. CT until the time of services. An Honors portion of the service will follow outdoors.
Donations for the family may be made at any Horizon Bank for the Keel Family Memorial and Educational Fund.
