The Bremen Town Council members opened bids Monday afternoon for the Jackson Street project.
The Town of Bremen was awarded Stellar grant funds for several projects including the Jackson Street project which involves an outdoor pavilion, stage area, a lot of greenspace, new trees, benches, and lighting to create a downtown community gathering area.
The base bid included most of the general construction aspects of the project. The first alternate bid was for a propane fire pit system, the second was for colored concrete, the third was for tongue and groove wood for pavilion, the fourth was for brick column wraps on the pavilion, and the fifth alternate bid was for a pavilion gutters deduction.
Three companies bid on the project including R. Yoder Construction, Brown and Brown, and Robert Henry Corporation. All of the base bids came in around $1.3 million and all companies submitted alternate bids which varied in amounts. For specific details, see below. Mike Reese from The Troyer Group commented that the bids came in as expected.
