Bourbon Town Council Receives March Police Report, Approves Requests

The Bourbon Town Council accepted the March 2023 monthly activity report from Bourbon Police Department (BPD) Chief William Martin.

Chief Martin reported 919 Daily Log Entries. The BPD Activity Report for March 2023 included 1 accidents reported, 38 uniform traffic tickets, 3 ordinance tickets, 30 school patrols, 30 written warnings, 150 verbal warnings, 3 vehicle identification checks, 50 traffic details including radar checks, 3 motorist assists, 4 attempts to locate and 16 foot patrols.

The BPD Criminal Activity Report for March 2023 included 3 felony arrests, 9 misdemeanor arrests, 15 case reports assigned, and 5 alarms.

The BPD Administrative and General Report included 78 office details, 1 firearms applications, 2 record checks / processing, 13 general complaints, 16 requests for service, 158 security checks, 47 public contacts, 39 assists to other agencies, 6 animal complaints, 3 notices served, 2 doors or windows found open, 7 family disturbance complaints, 7 suspicious persons or vehicles, and 18 calls to 9-1-1.

In other news the Council accepted the resignation for Officer Matt Geiger. Chief Martin requested approval to start the hiring process to seek a full time replacement for him; his request was granted.

Chief Martin also requested to hire Joe Deisch part time; he has recently retired from his service with the Plymouth Police Department. He is also trained as a Firearms Instructor which will be helpful to the department.

Chief Martin requested approval to hire Brooke Sumption as a Reserve Officer pending the outcome of her background check. His request was approved.
