Winter Storm Watch Issued, Flood Warning in Effect for Tippecanoe River

Northern Indiana is under a Winter Storm Watch for Friday.

Additionally, a flood warning is in effect for the Tippecanoe River near Ora until further notice.  The flood stage is at 12 feet.  The river is expected to rise above flood stage late Saturday evening and continue rising to 12.7 feet Monday morning with more flooding possible after Monday.

The Yellow River is currently at 10.66 feet which is just below the “Action stage” and is forecast to rise to 11.9 feet with the additional precipitation the area could receive.

The Kankakee River at Davis is currently at 8.29 ft. which is just below the “Action stage” and is forecast to rise to 9.1 ft with the additional precipitation the area could receive.  That will put the river just above the “Action stage”.
