The name of the driver who died in a single-vehicle Marshall County accident Monday afternoon has been released.
Police say the driver involved in this crash has been identified as 35-year-old Caleb Ingram of Rochester. The family has been notified.
Indiana State Police troopers responded to the accident on U.S. 31 near 4A Road at approximately 4:30 p.m. ET. A preliminary investigation found that a white 2013 Dodge was traveling northbound on U.S. 31 when it reportedly ran off the road for an unknown reason and struck a concrete bridge abutment.
Life-saving measures were attempted by troopers, but Ingram was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the report.
The investigation into the accident is ongoing. Neither alcohol nor drugs are suspected to be factors in this crash. Police say an autopsy is scheduled for later this week at the Marshall County Forensic Center.
