Plymouth School Board Discusses JUUL Labs Settlement

A settlement was reached recently in a class action lawsuit against JUUL Labs, Inc. in the amount of $255 million, which was approved before going to trial.

The lawsuit claims that the vaping giant used deceptive marketing and played a part in creating a youth vaping epidemic. The suit also claims that JUUL falsely advertised that vaping pods only contained five percent nicotine, or about as much as a pack of cigarettes. Studies proved that the product contained much higher levels.

At a recent meeting, the Plymouth School Board members voted unanimously by all present to approve of a settlement for the school of $58,426 with potential for a small bonus.
