A man was arrested Monday, March 13 after the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department investigated a report of a truck that had driven into water in the Lake of the Woods area.
Police say the vehicle was found on 3A Road east of Lake of the Woods just before 10:30 p.m. ET. During the course of the investigation, the driver of the vehicle, 24-year-old Juan Gillermo Estrada Ruiz, was found to be allegedly intoxicated at the time of the collision.
Ruiz was arrested and taken to the Marshall County Jail where he was booked on a preliminary charge of operating while intoxicated with a BAC of .08 and operating while intoxicated – endangering.
Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
