The Town of Bremen’s Code of Ordinances book will be updated thanks to a decision by the Bremen Town Council members last week.
Joe McDonough from American Legal Publishing presented the council members with a proposal to complete the work that will update ordinances, take out old ordinances, and update laws as it pertains to Indiana code. It will be done with the permission of the town council.
The company has done similar work in other Marshall County communities.
McDonough said it will take about six or seven months for the draft of the new book to be complete for review. With final edits and final printing, the new books should be done in about a year.
The work will be done at a cost of $7,250 with a $595 online version to be available on the town’s website which will be free for residents to access. Annual updating may cost up to $1,000 with any new ordinances or updates to ordinances, plus a $495 annual online hosting fee.
The Bremen Town Council unanimously approved a motion to sign the contract and move forward with the updates.
