Rochester Woman Arrested after Traffic Stop in Plymouth

A Rochester woman was arrested Sunday, February 12 after a traffic stop in the area of Michigan Street and Airport Road in Plymouth.

Plymouth Police Department officers say a domestic incident was reported at a Plymouth home and the pair allegedly involved left the residence with one person driving a car and the other person driving a pick-up truck.  The report states that the officer observed the vehicles traveling north on Michigan Street at Plymouth-Goshen Trail where the car was reportedly following too closely to the pick-up truck and making unsafe lane movements.

A traffic stop was initiated on the passenger car where the officer found that the driver, 22-year-old Raina L. Whitfield, was operating a vehicle at more than twice the legal limit, according to the report. Whitfield was arrested and taken to the Marshall County Jail where she faces preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a BAC of .15 more.  Formal charges will be determined by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.

Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
