The Bremen Town Council members reviewed an amended electric rate ordinance during their Monday afternoon meeting.
According to the language of the ordinance, the purpose of the adjustment of the rates and rules is to ensure to keep up safety and operations of the electric utility and its customers.
Rates for electric service include a customer charge assessed on a monthly basis and an energy charge assessed per kilowatt hour.
The customer charge per month for a residential customer is $15.00, single-phase commercial customer is $20.00, three-phase commercial customer is $40.00, high load and low load factor large power customer is $300.00, large power off-peak is $1,500 and mega industrial power is $750.00.
The energy charge per kilowatt hour for residential is $.08, single-phase commercial customer is $.10, three-phase commercial customer is $.10, large power high load factor is $.03, large power low load factor is $.05, large power off-peak is IMPA Schedule B base energy charge plus ECA.
Residential solar renewable generation net metering is $40.45 and the energy charge is $.06.
The second reading of the ordinance and a public hearing are anticipated at the Bremen Town Council’s March 13 meeting.
