Bourbon Police Chief Martin provides January report to Town Council

BOURBON — Bourbon Police Department (BPD) Chief William “Bill” Martin updated the Bourbon Town Council on the January 2023 monthly activity report during the February meeting.

Chief Martin reported 830 Daily Log Entries.

The BPD Activity Report for January 2023 included 6 accidents reported, 6 uniform traffic tickets, 1 ordinance tickets, 40 school patrols, 2 written warnings, 37 verbal warnings, 5 vehicle identification checks, 52 traffic details including radar checks, 5 motorist assists, 2 attempts to locate and 14 foot patrols.

The BPD Criminal Activity Report for January 2023 included 1 felony arrest, 7 misdemeanor arrests, 11 case reports assigned, and 5 alarms.

The BPD Administrative and General Report included 134 office details, 2 firearms applications, 1 record checks / processing, 19 general complaints, 33 requests for service, 155 security checks, 92 public contacts, 22 assists to other agencies, 5 animal complaints, 2 notices served, 2 doors or windows found open, 3 family disturbance complaints, 8 suspicious persons or vehicles, and 15 calls to 9-1-1.

In other news, Chief Martin updated the Council that part time Officer Matthew Haskins issued life saving treatment to an individual.

The 2016 Reserve Car was found to have metal shavings in the transmission two inches deep. The Council approved by majority vote the purchase of a used 2017 Ford Taurus from Oliver Ford that will be used primarily for the School Resource Officer and some Reserve work in the amount of $19,747. It had only 3,288 miles on it and comes with an extended warranty up to 100,000 miles. Oliver Ford offered a trade-in value of $2,500 for the 2016.
