Suspected Drunk Driver Arrested after Marshall County Accident

Christopher W. Brauneker

An Argos man was arrested in the overnight hours Sunday, January 15 following a single vehicle accident in a swampy area on 13th Road just west of U.S. 31.

According to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, a black 2001 Dodge pickup was found half submerged in the water at that location around 2:45 a.m. ET and the driver was assisted out of the vehicle by police.

The driver, Christopher W. Brauneker, was allegedly found to be under the influence of alcohol after field tests were conducted and the results of a certified blood draw showed his blood alcohol content to be more than three times the legal limit.

Brauneker was transported to the Marshall County Jail and faces preliminary charges of operating a vehicle with a BAC of .15 or more, and driving while suspended with a prior conviction.

Suspects are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.
