A Crawfordsville man was arrested Thursday, January 26 after the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department Dispatch Center received a call about a man reportedly walking southbound in the middle of the northbound lanes of U.S. 31 near U.S. 6.
Dispatchers received multiple reports of the man running out in front of moving vehicles in the area, according to the report.
A Marshall County Sheriff’s Department deputy located the man who was identified as 31-year-old Thomas Witt, of Crawfordsville. Police say Witt was found to be under the influence of drugs. He also had several active warrants for his arrest through Montgomery County.
Witt was arrested and transported to the Marshall County Jail on a preliminary charge of public intoxication and a hold for Montgomery County.
Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
