Argos Juvenile Allegedly Evades Traffic Stop, Flees on Foot

An Argos juvenile reportedly evaded a traffic stop Saturday, December 31 and ran from police on foot.

Marshall County Sheriff’s Department officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop just before 12:30 a.m. ET in the area of U.S. 31 and 12th Road.  Police say the vehicle failed to yield and continued northbound toward 9A Road.  When the vehicle got to 9A Road, it turned around and began traveling southbound back to the Argos area at speeds in excess of 100 mph, according to the report.

The vehicle reportedly continued on Michigan Road and through the streets of Argos.  The driver apparently lost control of the vehicle and crashed on Kenilworth Road near 17th Road just south of the railroad tracks. The driver allegedly fled on foot.

K9 officer Bennett and K9 Diesel tracked the driver to his home and was identified as a juvenile who was released to his parents, according to police.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Argos Police Department, Culver Police Department, Bourbon Police Department, and Lyon’s Towing.

Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
