The Argos Community School Board reviewed an agreement with the Town of Argos this week concerning the School Resource Officer (SRO).
Superintendent Ned Speicher explained that the Memorandum of Understanding lays out that the Town of Argos will give the SRO police authority and the officer will be a town employee. In a previous meeting of the Argos Town Council, it was explained that the officer would have use of a police vehicle and a town-issued service weapon. The officer would also need to comply with the town’s requirements as they pertain to police officers.
Dave Carrell is the SRO at Argos Schools.
The MOU was approved by the school board.
